What is the 250th?

The year 2026 marks 250 years since our country's founding. The entire country is participating in celebrations to commemorate the milestone. Our area of focus is to highlight Staten Island's ongoing role in our country’s history and future and to renew engagement with history by showcasing events for and from our local community relating to the American Revolution.

What is the Coalition?

The coalition is made up of Staten Island-based non-profits, business, foundations, BIDs, and more. Each coalition member will be doing something related back to the anniversary of America’s founding. Click here to to see a list!

We want to highlight our island, and we're aiming to be a movement for Staten Islanders. Check with your county leadership to see what your community has planned for the 250.

Why should I or we develop or host something related to the 250?

This is an opportunity to inspire folks to learn from our shared past and to invite conversations by hosting community-driven events and programs.

How are the events approved?

We reserve the right to list events and programs that we examine to be appropriate and/or relevant in the context of the 250th.
